The state-of-the-art plant, designed to house cultivators with capacities of up to 100,000 liters, will stand as one of the world’s largest and most advanced commercial cultivated meat facilities.

The 300,100sq-ft facility will serve as one of the largest industrial kitchens in the US, enabling Factor to provide more customers with healthy, premium, and convenient ready-to-eat meals right to their doorsteps.

The new facility will have the capacity to process 100,000 tons of wasted food a year from Washington and Oregon into carbon negative renewable energy, bringing the region closer to its goals to reduce wasted food and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

 In Aurora Ill., Gretchen Moon, vice president of commercial operations for North America, and her team will focus on the expectations of American consumers. In addition to sales, distribution, and marketing specialists, its product managers and R&D technologists will provide new ideas and high-sales-potential concepts.

The company will be implementing new automation and efficiency plans to ensure the brand is equipped for future demand and potential distribution opportunities as the brand embarks upon a series of marketing and advertising initiatives to introduce Lifeway Farmer Cheese to new audiences.

Kemin broke ground on the new building in November 2021, and yesterday, the company hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open the 38,000sq-ft facility. The operation is a $70 million investment that employs nearly 30 full-time workers in the Verona community. 

The brand-new, state-of-the-art factory was created to meet the growing demand by American consumers of the gummi brand.
